"My response to the “I am not a feminist” internet phenomenon….

First of all, it’s clear you don’t know what feminism is. But I’m not going to explain it to you. You can google it. To quote an old friend, “I’m not the feminist babysitter.”

But here is what I think you should know.

You’re insulting every woman who was forcibly restrained in a jail cell with a feeding tube down her throat for your right to vote, less than 100 years ago.

You’re degrading every woman who has accessed a rape crisis center, which wouldn’t exist without the feminist movement.

You’re undermining every woman who fought to make marital rape a crime (it was legal until 1993).

You’re spitting on the legacy of every woman who fought for women to be allowed to own property (1848). For the abolition of slavery and the rise of the labor union. For the right to divorce. For women to be allowed to have access to birth control (Comstock laws). For middle and upper class women to be allowed to work outside the home (poor women have always worked outside the home). To make domestic violence a crime in the US (It is very much legal in many parts of the world). To make workplace sexual harassment a crime.

In short, you know not what you speak of. You reap the rewards of these women’s sacrifices every day of your life. When you grin with your cutsey sign about how you’re not a feminist, you ignorantly spit on the sacred struggle of the past 200 years. You bite the hand that has fed you freedom, safety, and a voice.

In short, kiss my ass, you ignorant little jerks.”

After her father passed away from cancer before getting the chance to fulfill his dream of traveling the world, 25-year-old photographer Jinna Yang found a way to cope with her grief by backpacking across Europe with a life-size cardboard cutout of him. From her experience, Yang learned, "I just know that I will try to live every single day like it is my absolute last. I will cherish the time, the people, the opportunities that we have in front of us. He’s inspired me to take chances and has motivated me to keep pushing, especially when things get tough."

i compiled some pics of dreamworks female characters who were introduced in the same years as disney female characters- rapunzel, anna, and honey lemon

its up to you to decide which company is more progressive when designing female characters who appear distinct from the company’s last female protagonist, even tho its sorta extremely obvious

okay wow I was actually kinda fine with Rapunzel and Anna but Honey Lemon is one too many I’m mad now

Don’t get me started with the plot…

make me choose » alexskarev asked: cristina yang or meredith grey

well, meredith is anything but cold. she smiles… not that often, but when she does, you know because she’s really going through a lot, but it’s… you just feel warm. she’s kind. i mean, she can be a little selfish at times, and she’s flawed. but she’s kind. she cares about people and, um… she cares about her patients. she’s going to be a brilliant surgeon. you know, around here, she’s known as the one to beat.

Insults like “run like a girl” and “throw like a girl” are so ingrained in our lexicon, you might not actually notice how harmful they can be when they are tossed out, particularly to young girls.

This compelling new commercial from Always (yes, the maxi-pad company) seeks to change that while letting everyone know there is absolutely no shame in doing anything like a girl. It’s girl power 2.0 and it will make you think.
